What’s Been Happening In The Gaming World In 2022? Gaming Buzz

Every New Year is particularly exciting just because it is the ending of something as well as the beginning of something new. For gamers, it’s an even more exciting time. There will be new trends, rave reviews, sneak peek releases, and all sorts of other goodies.

The only problem is keeping up with it all. With some much to enjoy and partake in, it can be truly hard to take advantage of everything the New Year offers in gaming. Here are just a few of the latest trends that you’ll want to be sure to delve into.

Labor Movement Continues

Regardless of the type of gamer you are or the hours you put in, you’ve likely heard some snippet or talk of the lawsuit brought against Activision Blizzard last year. Even though this was last year’s news, it remains one of the biggest gaming stories today. One of the reasons for this is that the outcome could irreparably, forever change the gaming industry.

The lawsuit took place in California, and it was against Activision Blizzard for unfair and harsh working conditions. Video game developers working under the label were pushing to improve working conditions. The company did end up settling out of court at partly $18 million, but the effects of this single event were ever lasting. Bobby Kotick remains the company’s CEO, but it’s likely only a matter of time with the mounting pressure for his resignation.

The developers over at Ubisoft and several other major studios are now talking about unions, labor organizing, and improving working conditions. This is a trend that gamers will be able to follow all the way into next year. It might even still be a big story next year. There is one thing for sure though, with improved working conditions, gaming only stands to be much better.

Competitive Subscription Gaming?

Names like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass have been outliers in the gaming industry. It looks like this might change in the coming year. Expect to see Nintendo right at the forefront with its Switch Online subscription. The brand has already begun pushing changes and beefing up its offerings with a variety of add-ons and additional perks. Subscription gaming has already proven to be a useful delivery platform in the industry, and it’s exciting to see how much further it could go and where it might land.

Sony has grown tired of sitting on the sidelines and plans to launch its own Game Pass in the earliest part of the year. There is even rumored to be a tier that includes the vaunted PlayStation Now could service coupled with a catalog of old retro classics. There’s also been talk about the service eventually including new releases like Microsoft offers.

Things are getting exciting, and only stand to be even more so when playing สล็อตเว็บตรง. Don’t forget to take advantage of online casinos and Internet-based gambling in 2022. It’s going to be huge.

Make Or Break For Cloud

Cloud gaming has been steadily pushing in the industry since its introduction in 2021. Unfortunately, the platform stumbled a bit over itself when Google Stadia shut down its in-house development center. Along with this, a lot of hopes for the platform were lost. There is no denying that the infrastructure is strong and reliable with excellent Internet connections, but many of the business models just aren’t as appealing.

As for the current industry standard, people are only looking to invest in games they can stream. 2022 will likely be the defining year for the platform and it is truly crunch time.

AR And VR Steadying Rising

Does it really surprise anyone that augmented and virtual reality would be mentioned? It seems as if these two technologies are always mentioned. It is almost only natural for them to be mentioned. VR headsets are on the steady rise in the industry, and they stand to set the stage for real technological rivalries. When gaming developers get competitive, it can bring out their best. It’ll be exciting to see what giants like Apple and Microsoft stand to bring to the table.
