New games are up and about each year, but most of them come with little to no story. However, there are certain games that have mastered this element and used it to propel the game. Regardless if they’re old or new, here are a few video games with a strong plot:
Fallout New Vegas
The Fallout franchise is filled with good titles, but it’s New Vegas that stands because of its plot. In it, a mysterious figure shoots you and leaves you for dead. And you spend the whole game figuring out who that person is. You’ll go from one place to other and meet all sorts of people and factions. And it’s all set in a post-apocalyptic Vegas.
The Vegas of the real world is doing fine although most of the casino industry is online nowadays. There are many online casino sites that come with a variety of table, slot, and live casino titles. The main thing to remember about these sites and their games is to enjoy them responsibly.

Assassin’s Creed II
This is quite a bit different from the previous entry as it’s a game based on history. It’s set in several towns in Italy during the Renaissance, and you’ll get to see this country in all its splendor. The character you control is Ezio Auditore, a young man that is soon to be hit by destiny. That’s when his father is framed for treason which is when Ezio loses his father and 2 brothers. That’s when he becomes an Assassin and kills the man who set them up.
Once you do this, you’re forced to leave your hometown of Firenze and meet up with your uncle Mario, who takes you deeper into the world of Assassins. You’ll find out that the man who set up your father was a Templar and that they have been in conflict with the Assassins for centuries.
The period of the game is portrayed gorgeously and you’re able to climb every building you set your eyes on. You’ll also meet a bunch of historical figures in this game such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Lorenzo Medici. So, it’s a game with a great story and features too.
Observer
The thing about Observer is that it’s a dark game when it comes to the setting. You’ll play as a detective in a cyborg world and as a detective, you’ll be able to explore the conscience of all suspects, dead and alive, when you just patch into their heads. You’ll solve various cases as you search for your son, but when you get to him, he won’t be what you think he is. The gritty story is coupled with a dark ambiance and visuals that make this sci-fi horror game a title that you should play at least once.
Dragon Age Origins
This may be a game from 2009, but it’s got a nice story. It is the first game in a franchise, and if you’re looking for titles with a strong plot, then you can play them all. But it’s best to start at the beginning, hence the name Origins. You’ll create a character and dub them a mage, warrior, or rogue. Depending on the class you’ll get a different beginning, but all of them lead you to Duncan, a senior member of the Grey Wardens. You’ll become one once you pass the ritual and then you’ll need to join the king of Ferelden on the battlefield.
All of you are working to stop the Dark Spawn, an ancient evil that came to the world, but the king will be betrayed and you’ll barely make it out alive. Then you’ll need to look for allies willing to help you take the battle to the Dark Spawn and end them. The story sounds a bit cliché, but it’s a decent one. You’ll also get to have interesting conversations with your characters as they come from different backgrounds. These are the reasons why Dragon Age Origins is a game up your alley.
