Some individuals think the hair in the base game is a little too plain, while others despise the way hair looks in vanilla Sims 4.
Thankfully, hundreds of modders from around the world have come up with unique haircuts to spice things up.
It doesn’t matter if you’re seeking for hairstyles for male or female Sims, or even children– you’ve come to the right place!
I’ve broken this list into two sections: the first will cover the greatest female Sims 4 hair mods, and the second will cover the best male Sims 4 hair mods.

I’m not sure why the hairstyles on most male Sims models are so bizarre. But, hey, Maxis must have a solid reason.
This haircut (which is totally compatible with headwear) now serves as a shorter option for men who want messy hair and have enough style to flaunt it in any setting.
Parties, weddings, business gatherings, and other events are all possible.
This has to be one of the best haircuts for people looking for an all-rounder male design, regardless of what type of Sim you like to play as.
2. Blackout Hair Mod
The blackout hairdo will make you feel like a true samurai.
This hairdo is actually quite a little longer than it appears at first sight.
This hair add-on is well-rounded and a little disheveled, and it gives something that no other vanilla haircut can match.
3. DarkoHairMod
Another contemporary look that begins with a fading side cut.
This one, however, has more hair on top of the head, similar to the vanilla Sims 4 version.
However, if you look attentively, you’ll realise that this one is far more detailed!
4. Electric Hair Mod by Anto
Stylish, contemporary, and deserving of any businessman.
This short hairdo looks great on Sims from all walks of life.
However, I must admit that it’s a terrific one to try on teenagers or young adults. I believe it looks great on them, but I’m sure you’ll love it on anyone who wears it.
Plus, it’s completely free, so what have you got to lose?
5. Hysteria Hair Mod
Hysteria is a hairstyle modification.
On the right side of the head, combed to the left, faded on the sites and quite long.
If I may say so, it’s a very distinctive look.
This is the common hairdo seen in modern advertising, worn by models who appear to be fresh new on the day of the photography.
I wish we could all do it…
In any way, the hairdo should look great on any man. In real life or in the Sims universe.
6. Wavves Hair Mod
Wavy haired Sims may not feel as represented in The Sims 4 community as those with straight haired Sims.
So, with the Wavves Hairstyle mod, it’s time to put an end to it.
This modern version differs from the others in that it includes waves in the game’s hair.
However, you’ll need a powerful computer to make this one seem its best. But, again, we’re talking about The Sims, which isn’t exactly a GPU hog.
7. Lust Hair Mod
Are you attempting to make your Sim stand out from the crowd?
Are you sick of the game’s basic haircuts but still want to place a fashionable and non-cartoonish hairstyle on top of your male Sim’s head?
This one is an updated version of the previous mod, and it looks even better in my opinion.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching your Sim strut her stuff.
It also has configurable shadowing, which greatly improves realism when compared to the other options on this list.
8. N4 Hair Mod
If you like the trendy hairstyles used by athletes and celebrities, this mod will be a wonderful suit for you.
There isn’t anything quite like that in the main game, as most Sims arrive with either an exaggerated mohawk or a lack of hair on the sides.
This cut is as well-balanced as they come. And you’ll adore the way it makes your Sim look.
It, like many others on our list, comes various colour variations to add a little more variety to your life!
9. Haunting Hairstyle Mod
Haunting Hairstyles is a mod for the game Haunting Hairstyles.
Hair on the sides that is shorter does not always have to be as apparent to appear attractive.
And this hairstyle demonstrates why.
Well-combed hair is likely to draw a lot of attention, and the Haunting Hairstyles mod will give you exactly that.
In addition, owing to the mod creator’s work, you’ll be able to paint in a variety of hues.
10. Nicholas Hair Mod
The Nicholas Hair mod is a terrific addition to the game, with a simple short design that is widely utilized by males in today’s world.
Especially if you want to add a style that works for practically every serious-looking Sim.

Female Hairstyle Mods:
1. Nightcrawler Hair Mod
As much as I enjoy having long hair in this game, I couldn’t help but put this mod at the top of my list.
The Nightcrawler hair is as current as it is weird, with fantastic detail and amazing execution in terms of transparency and compatibility difficulties.
This hairstyle suits many types of women, but it looks especially attractive on housewives and businesswomen.
However, you have the final say, as this mod allows you to make your own decisions.
2. Eden Hair Mod
The number two slot on my list goes to another another excessively long hairstyle. Mostly because I adore long hair and the default game didn’t provide us nearly as many options as I would have liked.
In any case, this one cascades down the left side of your Sim’s body, ending at the waist.
It’s by far one of the longest hair mods available, and it comes in a variety of colours.
3. Parallel Hair Mod
Braids, you say? DOUBLE BRAIDS, I mean?
Why aren’t these included in the main game?
This one takes the standard “nice girl” look to the next level by including this amazing haircut that Sims of all ages can wear.
The braids are compatible with most of the headwear that your Sim can wear, which is the finest part of the mod.
That means it won’t go in the way of you developing the hat-loving persona you’ve always desired.
4. Perfect Illusion Mod
Anto Illusion Hair is a hairstyle that has been modified by Anto.
The designer of this mod drew inspiration from Lady Gaga. And I believe the end outcome was rather accurate.
This hair is really intricate, and you’ll have a Sim sporting a unique rockstar look.
Despite the fact that this sort of hair is already present in the base game (or a very similar one, at least). So, while it may not bring a completely new twist, it’s worth a download if it fits your Sim’s personality.
5. Envy Hair Mod
Another hairdo with a distinctive design, this time much more withdrawn and less loose than others.
However, I believe this will work best on entrepreneurs and businesswomen Sims.
It really feels like the right fit for them, don’t you think?
It’s that classic short hairdo that seemed to be fairly fashionable in the 1980s, in which the hair wasn’t actually short… but was made to appear so.
However, a picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look!
6. High Life Hair Mod
Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about the alternatives for short hair.
And this is one of my personal favourites from the game.
I admit that I primarily play with male Sims. But I have to say, those of you who want to see their Sims flaunt a short hairdo with a lot more intricacies than the ones included in the main game would want to try this one out.
It can be used by Sims of all ages (beginning with Teen), but I think it looks best on Young Adults.
It’s up to you, though, to decide who rocks it!
7. Prisma Hair Mod
Is it just me, but I don’t think there’s a single haircut in the main game that’s as long as this one.
I’m trying to recall something, but I’m having trouble!
Those who enjoy seeing their female Sims with long hair will enjoy this one.
The level of detail is incredible, and it comes in a variety of colours. What’s more, the hair falls to the front of the body as well as a little to the rear.
Given that it’s generally uniform in colour, it doesn’t appear to have many transparency difficulties, which is a bonus.
8. Runaway Hair Mod
The long Runaway Hair is by far one of my favourite hair mods to use because it is detailed and lovely.
Granted, I think the hair looks great in real life as well. And it’s possible that this influenced my decision.
But, hey, that doesn’t take away from the incredible amount of effort that went into making this.
9. Paradox Hair Mod
This cute little haircut is suitable for women of all ages, and it comes in a whopping 27 distinct hues, giving your Sims world lots of diversity.
Try out a few of them to discover which one best suits your Sim.
This is a long ponytail hairdo with enough intricacy to be one of the best I’ve seen for the game
10. Ominous Hair Mod
This mod is extremely detailed and has a distinct appearance.
I can only recall one haircut from the game that looks comparable to this.
This gives you a fashionable style without many similar possibilities, with a little bun on top of the head and some loose hair all over the place.
There are some minor transparency issues with this mod, but I forgive them because modelling such a distinctive haircut can’t be easy, especially when loose hairs aren’t supposed to be a reality in Sims 4.
11. Hair Vapor Mod
When it comes to grading hair mods, it’s important to remember that transparency is almost as important as texture quality and design itself.
As a result, this one gets a nod because it checks both boxes admirably.
The transparency between the strands seems surprisingly accurate, and it’s a short hairstyle that suits practically every type of women.
12. Jealousy Hair Mod
This long hairdo has earned a spot on my list since it reminds me of one of the game’s greatest hairstyles, but it’s more better and more detailed.
Although I believe this mod could easily replace the one included with vanilla Sims 4, some of you may prefer a more classic design.
In any event, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better set of long hairs with a tail that runs from back to front.
